Celiac Disease
Untreated celiac disease can cause osteoporosis, anemia, infertility and neurological disorders. Patients with untreated celiac disease have a 10 times higher risk for malignant intestinal lymphoma.
Celiac Disease Panel*
The detection of gliadin and transglutaminase antibodies together with endomysial IgA antibodies provides a strong tool for identification of patients with celiac disease, and patients with dermatitis herpetiformis (a skin form of celiac disease). Measurement of IgG as well as IgA antibodies is important as IgA deficient individuals (0.25%) have 10 times higher incidence of celiac disease than those with normal IgA production. 2% of patients with celiac disease are deficient in IgA.
Biohit Celiac Disease Panel consists of four ELISA kits:
Anti-Gliadin IgA ELISA Kit
Anti-Gliadin IgG ELISA Kit
Anti-Transglutaminase IgA ELISA Kit
Anti-Transglutaminase IgG ELISA Kit (For research use only)
